HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN MY GARDEN SERIES
Throughout 2022 I am inviting you to join me as I take inspiration from gardens up and down the land, both in the UK and in Northern France.
I will be videoing my travels and explorations in the gardens I visit and from the point of view of a landscape painter will share with you my thoughts and inspiration gained from each, including discussions with gardeners and interesting objects/ subjects within the gardens I visit.
I will share with you my reasons for painting and help you to understand how I make my large abstract paintings. Abstractions of colour, shape, form, light and subject within my work, hopefully helping you on your journey within the art world – whether you are an interested amateur, a seasoned expert or an interested collector/ observer of art.

These three pictures featured hopefully show you how, as a contemporary artist, I approach an abstract piece and the development from a more traditional image to an original painting that has more energy, vibrancy and emotion – all qualities I experience and see when in the garden itself, which I find much easier to express in an abstract form.
Painting is for me so much more than representing a facsimile of an image I see.
In his book ‘The Unquiet Landscape’ Christopher Neve says:
