WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING
My work was featured in the Alston Art Plus 2021 this year and with three works sold within the first twenty-four hours of opening I was both very lucky and very thrilled. My pen and ink washes have proved to be very popular, with only three left from the ‘Glint of Sunshine’ series of both Alston and Kirkby Stephen – see the blog on my website. https://www.helenjohnsonartist.com/post/how-to-add-more-sparkle-to-your-walk-in-the-landscape-by-helen-johnson-artist
As mentioned in my last newsletter, I now have a studio in France as well as in Alston. I was busy there for most of August and you can see some of my efforts here. These are all available on my website, or through Saatchi Art and will be featured in an exhibition later this year – hopefully in early November. More information in next month’s newsletter and through Instagram
ALATI (Alston Landscape Art Town Initiative) is holding and exhibition of Landscape art and photography, also in St Augustine’s Church, Alston. The exhibition runs from 4th to 25th September 10:30 to 15:30 Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm to 15:30 on Sunday. Artists showing include me, Gillie Cawthorne; a fabulous watercolourist, Lionel Playford; a landscape artist based in Garrigil, Helen Wilkinson from Allenheads and Bob Armstrong, now living in Lancashire but with a collection of paintings from Alston Moor. Photographers include Mike Knowles from Nenthead, Brian Davies and Gordon Monk from Alston. It promises to be a great show, so please come along if you can.
Three lucky winners have so far received their pen and ink washes from my recent time in France and all are thrilled with them. There is one more giveaway to go this Friday, so fingers crossed that you might be the lucky winner in this last of the pen and ink FREE GIVEAWAYS. (at least for now!)
