Above and Beyond the River Nent

Begun en plein air by the banks of the River Nent in Cumbria, this painting aims to show the wild and wintery nature of the experience of sitting beside this beautifully powerful river, that carves and plays with the view on an almost daily basis. I used drone footage, as well as sketchbook work from the outdoor experience as well as photographs to create this large abstract back in the studio.
