This painting is inspired by the 'Pont de Normandie' in Honfleur, where the mouth of the Seine heads for the sea. I spent a day at Honfleur in early January 2023 in preparation for this painting as well as a larger one with the same colour palette. I chose this location as part of my 2023 River series, where I look at the relationship between people and nature.
