This diptych uses the Golden Section rectangle as it's base, with the square and rectangle combining to create a Golden Section Rectangle. The painting is based on a dead sunflower field near to my studio in Northern France, and whilst retains an optimism in terms of colour and style, shows the impact of climate change on the surrounding countryside, as even sunflowers face away from the blazing sun and fail to survive. The left side panel shows an abstracted version of the sunflowers, and emphasises the fragility of our environment and how easy it is for it to simply blow away.
